Quantum radiation in external background fields

چکیده
A canonical formalism is presented which allows for investigations of quantum radiation induced by localized, smooth disturbances of classical background fields by means of a perturbation theory approach. For massless, non-selfinteracting quantum fields at zero temperature we demonstrate that the low-energy part of the spectrum of created particles exhibits a non-thermal character. Applied to QED in varying dielectrics the response theory approach facilitates to study two distinct processes contributing to the production of photons: the squeezing effect due to space-time varying properties of the medium and of the velocity effect due to its motion. The generalization of this approach to finite temperatures as well as the relation to sonoluminescence is indicated. PACS-numbers: 12.20.; 42.50.; 04.60.Ds; 78.60.Mq

A new method for ideal dose distribution of two adjacent fields for external beam radiation therapy
Abstract Background: Adjacent treatment fields are commonly used in external beam radiation therapy, such as mantle and inverted-Y fields for the treatment of Hodgkin’s disease and craniospinal fields used in the treatment of medulloblastoma and head and neck tumors when the lateral neck fields are placed adjacent to the anterior supraclavicular field. In each of these situations, there is a p...
متن کاملConductance fluctuations of open quantum dots under microwave radiation
We develop a time-dependent random-matrix theory describing the influence of a time-dependent perturbation on mesoscopic conductance fluctuations in open quantum dots. The effect of external field is taken into account to all orders of perturbation theory, and our results are applicable to both weak and strong fields. We obtain temperature and magnetic field dependences of conductance fluctuati...
متن کاملTransformation Properties of External Radiation Fields, Energy-Loss Rates and Scattered Spectra, and a Model for Blazar Variability
We treat transformation properties of external radiation fields in the proper frame of a plasma moving with constant speed. The specific spectral energy densities of external isotropic and accretion-disk radiation fields are derived in the comoving frame of relativistic outflows, such as those thought to be found near black-hole jet and gammaray burst sources. Nonthermal electrons and positrons...

We calculate the radiation resulting from the Unruh effect for strongly accelerated electrons and show that the photons are created in pairs whose polarizations are maximally entangled. Apart from the photon statistics, this quantum radiation can further be discriminated from the classical (Larmor) radiation via the different spectral and angular distributions. The signatures of the Unruh effec...

In this paper we discuss the behaviour of the longitudinal modes of a magnetized non collisional plasma subjected to an external electromagnetic field. We apply a semiclassical formalism, with the electrons being studied in a quantum mechanical viewpoint whereas the electromagnetic field in the classical context. We calculate the dielectric function in order to obtains the modes and found that,...
